What can I say about Cossatot River? The surrounding area is beautiful. We go here to fish and spend the day. The water is crisp and clear. It is a beautiful place in my beautiful state. Full review by hollidayamh365

If the water levels are right you can do some rafting for those class of rapids. However there are no outfitters on the river that provide those services. Our water levels are very dependent on rainfall. We have a floater guide publication available on the Cossatot Section of Arkansas State Parks website, that will give you a guideline of what levels are best at various locations for what you are after. Feel free to call the Visitor Center for more information,
What varieties of fish are the best to go after in late March and. early April. I'm planning on being in little Rock for a wedding and don't want to leave arkansas w/o enjoying it's rivers and fishing.

During that time of year about the only thing that you will catch would be small mouth bass. Best baits would be a green pumpkin seed finesse worm rigged on 1/8 ounce jig head (hook exposed). Fishing it similar to Texas rig style, but shorter rises and faster retrieves, or a brown Berkley power bait 2 inch curly tail grub, same set up and retrieve. Hope this helps, and good luck.
