On short notice, I'm leaving for Lima next week, and my flight arrives at around midnight. Is it safe to travel to the city center around that time? If so, what the safest mode of transport? Is it even safe to go out the terminal after midnight? Are there a lot of BUDGET hotels outside the airport? Hoping someone will respond ASAP. Thanks much.

Our driver wouldn’t let us roll the windows down- even during the day. Apparently, robbery is a huge problem. I’d advise making sure you get a legitimate taxi while at the airport and negotiate the price before you get in. Don’t be too alarmed at the length of the taxi ride. It’s a good hour away and will cost 50-75 soles- maybe more since it’s so late.
Does the changing of the guard also occur on Sunday's. What time? Thanks AC

As far as I know, it does at noon. However, do check with your hotel in advance, just in case. BTW, just got this enquiry despite your posting it 2 weeks ago. Hope you enjoy your trip to Lima
