Hi, I have a question from ones who went to the glacier with a tour. I have a a little problem in my leg, I can walk walk easily even in the snow , also in ice, did many hiking in North Norway. But slippery icy and steep is hard and dangerous for me. In slippery situation try to avoid steep, and find almost flat route. Do you think I can pick a tour and go to Vantajokull? Thanks.

Hi, We did a 5-hour hike on the glacier. It was definitely not flat and steep in certain areas, there were areas that were fairly easy and areas that were slippery. That being said, we had crampons and an axe to assist us. I would say it can be fairly challenging to do that hike with a leg problem. You may be able to find a shorter hike that takes you to the base where it can be relatively flat. There were 2-3 hour tours too which kept people mostly on the flat part. We used artic adventures and they have a GLACIER EXPERIENCE TOUR which is an EASY GLACIER WALKING TOUR SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS. Good Luck!
