Great for camping and hiking. You can go fishing. Good view of mountains and trees. Lovely in Fall with the leaves changing colors but I would avoid it in winter! Full review by cherrydoll

Beautiful forest with amazing scenery. Plenty of views, creeks, and rocks. Lots of wildlife, tons of deer and turkeys. Gorgeous in the winter and roads were well maintained. Full review by Seven7777

Well, if that town is in the southern portion, visit the Cranberry Mountain Visitor Center. I've been there when hummingbirds at their feeders and they have a 45 boarded walkway over a cranberry bog. You can see carnivorous plants - sundews among other more northern species. The Highland highway has some nice views if you take the hikes. Hill Creek falls near Richwood are pretty impressive but also a good walk.

No, there are no fees for entering Monongahela National Forest, and as the name suggests, it's not even a "national park" like say the Smokies. There are some campgrounds that do charge for a site, $24 for non-electric $26 for electric. (might as well get electric to charge up :^/)
