We wanted to visit the oldest house in Lancaster. Really cool area to explore. Our family loves history and glad we stopped to check it out! Full review by MichaelTQ92

Hans Herr was my 8th great grandfather. So it was thrilling to visit his house. Even though it was closed on a Wednesday. We walked the grounds and was quite impressed. Full review by KeepLifeSimpleUSA

Depends on what you want to see. The Hans Herr House tour is between 45 min to an hour and same for the Longhouse tour. They also have a few buildings you can self guide tour through with many old artifacts like farm equpitment and furinature and more. There is also a library with materials to learn more. You could easily spend an hour there or a few hours. It all depends on what you want to get out of it. The tours are 8 dollars each or 16 for both. The blacksmith shop, barn, and other exhibits are free with the tour. They also run tours every hour, on the hour so plan around that. Hope this helped!
are the grounds and building accessible with a walker? Also how long does it take. We plan on visiting it the same day as our visit to see Sampson at Mellinian Theather

Hello Bette. I plan to see Samson myself. To answer your question, accessing the Hans Herr House with a walker may be difficult, but it is doable. Everything is in its original setting with no paved walkways. As for time, give yourself a minimum of an hour for the house and an extra hour for the Indian hut.
