Workers at stores in metro Denver and other parts of Colorado could hit picket lines as early as Sunday morning.

The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 said union members working for Safeway and Albertsons grocery stores in Colorado have voted to strike after nine months of negotiations failed

Citing concerns over pay and staffing, Pueblo-area Safeway workers voted May 31 to join a strike effort if ongoing labor negotiations fail.
