On Friday at 4:25 p.m. an updated severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC in effect until 5:30 p.m. for Henderson and Polk counties.

Events had to be evacuated as the storms approached, including the Windy City Smokeout Country Music and BBQ Festival outside the United Center.

A strong thunderstorm rolled into metro Denver on Thursday afternoon and was expected to bring wind gusts up to 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
