Alabama broke the 35-year-old March Madness record for 3-pointers with 25 and Mark Sears scored 30 of his 34 points on 3s, a relentless long-range spree that ushered the second-seeded Crimson Tide past BYU 113-88 on Thursday night in an NCAA Tournament East Region semifinal.

Led by Mark Sears' 34 points, the Crimson Tide continued their March run and will play the winner of Duke-Arizona on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide broke the NCAA Tournament record for most 3-point makes by a team in a single game. Alabama 's 3-point tries were also an NCAA Tournament record, beating the 43 Saint Joseph's set in 1997. Alabama finished with 25 3-point makes on 51 tries, beating BYU 113-88 in the Sweet 16.
