Bastrop County wildfire now 80% contained
A wildfire that erupted on Sunday in Bastrop County has been mostly contained following heavy overnight rainfall and a sustained emergency response, officials with the Texas A&M Forest Service said Tuesday. As of 10 a.m., 80% of the Hudson Wildfire had been contained.

The Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management said the Hudston Fire is south of Park Road 1C. This is between Bastrop State Park and Buescher State Park.

AUSTIN, Texas — Many people were forced to evacuate their homes as crews work to contain a 400-acre wildfire that started in Bastrop County Sunday afternoon. According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, the wildfire – named the Hudson Fire – began just after noon, eight miles east of Bastrop city limits and north of State Highway 71.
