According to the FIR filed in the Mysuru Lokayukta, CM Siddaramaiah has been named as Accused No. 1 (A1), his wife Parvathy as Accused No. 2 (A2), and Bamaida Mallikarjunaswamy as Accused No. 3 (A3). The case is based on allegations of irregularities and misuse of authority within MUDA during Siddaramaiah’s previous tenure as Chief Minister.

Congress president M Mallikarjun Kharge, meanwhile, came to Siddaramaiah's defence, stating that the party is standing with him and will support him.

The Lokayukta Police in Mysuru have registered an FIR against Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvathy for allegedly unlawfully allotting 14 housing plots. The case follows a special court's directive to investigate complaints from an activist.

( MENAFN - IANS) Bengaluru, Sep 27 (IANS) The Karnataka unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday sought to know from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah how long he intends to occupy the position of CM even as a probe has been ordered against him for his alleged involvement in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam case.

The move by the state’s Anti-Corruption body follows a special court in Bengaluru ordering a Lokayukta police investigation into the allegations against Siddaramaiah.

Referring to the ongoing confrontation between Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and the Congress government in Karnataka, Mr Siddaramaiah pointed out that Governors were nominated and not elected by the people.

As the political row simmered, the CM dug in his heels, calling the allegations against him a conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, responded to the BJP's demand for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's resignation over the MUDA scam, stating that the entire Congress party stands in support of Siddaramaiah.
