In Grand Rapids, a cold weather advisory is issued when there is forecasted three or more hours of temperatures or wind chill (the “feels-like” temperature) at -15 degrees or colder. An extreme cold warning will be issued when there is forecasted three or more hours of temperatures or wind chill at -25 degrees or colder.

The FOX26 area should be ready for snow and ice this week. The can be fun but the threat of ice on the roads and power lines can be dangerous. The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WATCH from 6pm Monday through 6pm Tuesday.

A COLD WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued by surrounding National Weather Service offices from Saturday night through Sunday morning. We will likely see headlines issued again for Sunday into Monday and Monday into Tuesday.
