Walt Disney Co. and its chief executive have made a sharp pivot since doubling-down on diversity and inclusion efforts in the wake of George Floyd's murder in Minneapolis four and a half years ago.

Disney has recently been trying to avoid approaching hot-button political issues such as removing a transgender storyline from an upcoming animated series.

Disney ’s recent decision to pull a transgender storyline from one of its upcoming movies appears to be its latest attempt to avoid generating political controversy after the company became the center of a debate over “wokeism” last year.

The Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade special will be hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, the hosts of “Dancing With the Stars.” The parade will air at 10 a.m. on Christmas, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, on ABC and Disney+.
