Tiana's Bayou Adventure is basically the same ride at Disneyland and Disney world, but actually one is better.

Disneyland calls it a musical journey "full of twists, turns and festive fun that crescendos with a 50-foot drop – as well as a swingin' soiree."

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens on Friday, and excitement is buzzing at the Southern California resort. It’s been months since Walt Disney World’s version of the ride debuted in June and nearly a year and a half since the original Splash Mountain closed in May 2023.

Disney fans will be happy to know there’s a new ride at Disneyland. Kind of. A year after Splash Mountain was closed due to complaints about racist stereotypes in its storyline, the water ride has spectacularly reopened as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Disneyland’s new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is soaking preview riders with a wall of water that floods the logs during the final 50-foot-drop and gets riders much wetter than Splash Mountain ever did, according to social media reports and Disney fan websites.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure replaced the decades-old Splash Mountain ride, which came under fire on social media because it featured characters and music from "Song of the South."
