The Rangers lost two players at once — and three overall — in their comeback 6-4 win over the Islanders in their second exhibition game Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. Only one returned. Artemi Panarin (lower-body injury) and Ryan Lindgren (upper-body injury) both left Tuesday’s contest and did not return.

Thankfully for the Rangers, center Filip Chytil was back on the ice shortly after taking a scary knee-to-knee hit during Tuesday's preseason game against the Islanders.

This looked nasty. What a terrible break for Chytil.

Whether it’s next week, next month, Christmas or April, you’re always going to hold your breath when Chytil takes a hit up high.

There’s few question marks in a New York Rangers lineup that’s returning nearly all its personnel from last season’s Presidents Trophy-winning squad. One question, though, is whether Filip Chytil can remain healthy and recapture his form of two seasons ago.

He entered training camp as "a full go," according to team president Chris Drury, and has practiced the first three days with no restrictions. He's hoping to play in as many preseason games as he can, with head coach Peter Laviolette happy to oblige.
