Demonstrators have taken to the streets across multiple states on Thursday to protest President Donald Trump’s Administration in a day of action honoring the late civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis, with more events planned across the country in the evening.

Thursday’s demonstration was organized by Olympia Indivisible, a volunteer group that advocates for democracy and social justice.

Over 200 people gathered at downtown Modesto’s Five Points intersection for a “Good Trouble Lives On” protest Thursday evening, in honor of the late congressmember and civil rights’ leader John Lewis on the anniversary of his death. More than 1,000 people took to the streets on Thursday as they participated in a series of “Good Trouble” protests across Montgomery County, demonstrating against the Trump administration.

More than two dozen protests were planned across Arizona to honor the late Rep. John Lewis, a longtime civil rights leader.

On Thursday afternoon, Shelby quietly joined the list of cities around the nation that participated in Good Trouble Lives On protests. Protests took place in Charlotte, Gastonia, Asheville and other area cities with some attracting hundreds of participants.
