Immigration raids continuted to spark anxiety and anger over the weekend across Southern California. Armed, masked ICE agents executed a raid Saturday afternoon at a swap meet in the city of Santa Fe Springs hours before a concert was to begin, witnesses said.

President Trump’s decision to pause most raids targeting farms and hospitality workers took many inside the White House by surprise. It came after intensive lobbying by his agriculture secretary.

The region is home to one of the nation’s largest and oldest Hispanic communities, which underpins the economy.
