Ahmad Jamal Khamees Alhendi told officer he had a “small bomb” in back of his truck, knowing it was false and in an attempt to intimidate the officer.

The driver of the truck, a man from Illinois, reportedly told the officer there was an explosive device inside the vehicle. At that point, the interstate was shut down in that area, an the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, SLED and the FBI responded to the scene to help investigate.

An Oak Lawn man is in custody after he made a bomb threat during a traffic stop, prompting the closure of Interstate 85 in South Carolina, authorities said.
