Jurors returned to the courtroom on Tuesday for a second day of deliberations in the trial of Adonis Smith, who is charged with the murder of Kendal Crank.

After more than two weeks of trial and two days of jury deliberation, the Charlotte murder trial of Adonis Smith ended in a mistrial on Tuesday. The jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict, leaving the case in limbo as families of both Smith and Kendal Crank seek justice.

Adonis Smith is on trial for the 2019 shooting death of Kendal Crank, and Wednesday marked a significant moment as the first detective who spoke with Smith took the stand.

Jurors began their deliberations Monday in the trial of one of three suspects accused of killing Kendal Crank.

Smith is charged with shooting and killing a 27-year-old Charlotte mother who was struck by a stray bullet in 2019.
