Mazda is recalling 77,670 sports vehicles in the U.S. over a software error that may cause the front airbags to deploy with excessive force in a crash, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Friday.

The Miatas, and over 15,000 Fiat 124 Spiders, are being recalled for front airbags that can deploy with excessive force.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration required the automakers to provide fixes for software and brake issues.
