Temperatures are expected to reach the mid 70s across Massachusetts on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the weather service. The state is not predicted to experience more rain until Wednesday night.
A few showers will linger on Memorial Day, but there will be some periods of dry weather in between the rain. A final round of scattered showers and storms will move across the state Monday night. Once again, the threat of severe weather will remain low.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy with lows in the 50s and a chance for rain continuing. Planning for Memorial Day tomorrow, it looks a little on the soggy side, mainly during the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will work in from the west in the morning and continue to the east.
A spike in travel was recorded by the Transportation Security Administration this weekend, with over three million travelers screened on Friday.
Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer for many in the United States, but it won’t feel like that in the East leading up to the holiday thanks in part to a rare May nor’easter.
