A man is in custody on attempted murder for allegedly shooting a driver who plowed his car through a crowd in Los Angeles last month, police announced Monday. The arrest comes more than two weeks after what police called the "chaotic" incident outside the music venue The Vermont in East Hollywood.

LOS ANGELES — A 28-year-old man wanted for shooting a driver accused of plowing into a crowd of pedestrians in East Hollywood was arrested Sunday in Redondo Beach. ABC7 reported Efrain Villalobos of Lawndale was arrested by Redondo Beach police and turned over to Los Angeles Police Department detectives about 1:15 p.m. Sunday.

The search for the suspect continued in the mountains just west of Anaconda, where he is accused of fatally shooting four people, officials said.

Police say the suspect was "a regular" at the bar where he opened fire, and that a bartender and three patrons were among the victims.
