Quetta: Pakistani security forces successfully ended a hostage crisis in Balochistan after militants hijacked the Jaffar Express, killing 21 passengers and four paramilitary soldiers. In a precision-led operation, troops eliminated all 33 militants involved and rescued the remaining hostages.

Armed militants in Pakistan's Balochistan region have attacked a train carrying more than 400 passengers and taken a number of them hostage, military sources told the BBC on Tuesday. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) fired at the Jaffar Express Train as it travelled from Quetta to Peshawar.
