Tropical Storm Helene Update #4 – 311 activated, Animal Resources closing, and more sandbag locations

COUNTY-BY-COUNTY: Sandbag locations open in Central Florida ahead of potential hurricane
As of Monday morning, the disturbance had maximum wind speeds of 30 mph and was located about 350 miles south-southeast of the western tip of Cuba and about 130 miles south-southwest of Grand Cayman. Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday declared a state of emergency for 41 counties, including Marion and Sumter in Central Florida.

In Dixie County, there is one location now open at the Dixie County Road Department/County Yard located along Southeast 309th Street in Cross City. There are 11 locations across Levy County that are opening up at noon Tuesday. There is a 10 bag limit at all sites, and they are self-serve. The list of these locations are below:
