After nearly two decades, passengers going through airport security in the United States may not have to take their shoes off.

The Transportation Security Administration is beginning to scale back its decades-old requirement for passengers to remove their shoes while undergoing security screenings at the nation’s airports.

The Transportation Safety Administration will soon let passengers keep their shoes while they go through security checkpoints at select airports.
