European leaders are to join the Ukrainian president during a visit that seeks a path to ending the war between Ukraine and Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is in Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump for talks aimed at ending the war with Russia. This comes on the heels of Trump’s meeting on Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin who insists on Ukraine giving up territory as part of a deal.

Volodymyr Zelensky and a posse of European leaders are headed to the White House to discuss a possible end to the Russian invasion.

President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Washington, D.C., late on Aug. 17, where he is set to meet U.S. President Donald Trump for peace talks. The meeting is aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s position as Trump presses for a rapid settlement to end what has become Europe’s deadliest war in eight decades.
