The biggest audio announcement at Apple’s iPhone event last month wasn’t the AirPods 4. Instead, the milestone news was the company’s plan to introduce a robust suite of hearing health features for the AirPods Pro 2 alongside iOS 18.
Your AirPods Pro 2 can now work as a hearing aid–here’s how
Start by putting your AirPods Pro 2 in your ears and then open Settings. Tap on your AirPods (near the top of the Settings page) and look for the Hearing Health section. You’ll see options for Hearing Protection, Hearing Assistance, and Take a Hearing Test. Tap that to get started.
The AirPods Pro 2 Finally Receive Its Hearing Health Features
Apple’s much-talked-about hearing health features for the AirPods Pro 2 have finally been released in a firmware update today. Though you can update your AirPods Pro to the latest version to receive the features today, you’d have to wait until October 28, the release of iOS 18.1, to use them.
