This week, two out of three recalls to pay attention to aren't caused by foodborne pathogens. Both the chicken sausage and the yogurt below may contain fragments of plastic that pose a dangerous choking hazard.

Kayem Foods Inc. has issued a voluntary recall for more than 24,000 pounds of its Sweet Apple Chicken Sausages.

The recall is for all YoCrunch products sold at all regional grocery stores and nationwide stores, including Target, Walmart, and Dollar General. The contaminated products can be identified by the lot number and expiration date ranging from July 7 to September 4, 2025. A full list of the recalled YoCrunch products can be found here.

The latest, on Monday, was Danone U.S.' voluntarily recall of all flavors and sizes of its YoCrunch yogurt, following consumer complaints about the potential presence of sharp, transparent plastic pieces in the yogurt's dome topper, the company said.
