Some shopping malls have estimated that people walk around 7 miles on a given visit and a one-hour trip to the supermarket can accumulate as many as 4,000 steps, or approximately 1.9 miles.
Malls can be great places to walk. Especially for older people , it makes sense to get your steps in at a place where there are no hills and no tripping hazards, no traffic, no heat domes.
Sometimes, I walk in a shopping mall. There are other people, walking for exercise too. Some are impressive in that they are quite old, but still walking well, “making it happen”.
