After two weeks of helping to fight the devastating wildfires in Southern California, Utah firefighters are on their last 24-hour shift. Kelly Bird is one of the Unified Fire Authority firefighters who has been on the front lines.

Firefighters with the Unified Fire Authority and various other departments from around the Wasatch Front are working 24-hour-long shifts to give aid where they can in Southern California.

The wildfires in the Los Angeles area have displaced thousands of people, but humans aren’t the only people needing places to stay because of the fires. Dozens of rescued pets from the area have been sent to Utah to help overwhelmed shelters.
