As a New Yorker with lots of options, I decided to head to three of the most popular doughnut chains — Dunkin', Krispy Kreme, and Tim Hortons — to see which had the best Boston cream doughnut.

I hoped for something better from Tim Hortons but was mostly disappointed by its take on the classic Boston cream. While it was a slight step above Dunkin's, it mostly had the same shortcomings.
