After 48 years on death row, the results of Zeigler’s successful battle for DNA testing could mark a breakthrough.

Ziegler's attorneys say DNA evidence proves Zeigler didn't commit the murders of his wife and in-laws that landed him on death row almost five decades ago.

Zeigler was nearly 31 years old when he was sentenced to death for two of the four murders that happened on Christmas Eve, 1975. He turns 80 in July.
