Two women died and a 1-year-old child was hospitalized after being hit by a car traveling the wrong way, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on the 60 Freeway near the 71 Freeway. Officials identified the wrong-way driver as 24-year-old Rick Rodriguez from Pomona, who was reportedly seen driving a 2013 Honda Accord eastbound on the westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway before he collided with multiple vehicles just west of Reservoir Street.
