Winter Storm Cora is sweeping through the Southeast and Ohio Valley, delivering a mess of snow and some ice from Tennessee to the Carolinas and Virginia, including Charlotte and Raleigh. The wintry mess is snarling travel and in some cases icing could be heavy enough to cause power outages and tree damage.

Another massive winter storm is forecast to pummel the southern and eastern U.S., with impacts from Texas to the Carolinas.

The wintry wallop comes as a blast of Arctic air will invade much of the Midwest, Great Lakes and northern United States for roughly a week.
