FORT BENNING, Georgia. – March 29, 1973: The last U.S. ground troops depart the Republic of Vietnam. Today, March 29 has become a day of recognition, remembrance, healing, and education; and marks the eighth anniversary of Vietnam War Veterans Day.

Those seven friends can be found on panel 11 west, lines 121 to 128 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC. David always tells people that because, he said, they can never be forgotten for their sacrifice, and he lives every day to honor them.

This Saturday, March 29th marks Vietnam War Veterans Day, a day to reflect on the sacrifices and service of the men and women who served in the Vietnam War. Many of these veterans returned home to a country that was divided in its support for the war,

DC News Now joins the nation in celebrating Vietnam War veterans on the 50th anniversary of the war's end. President Donald Trump has made U.S. control of Greenland a pillar of his second term’s burgeoning foreign policy.

Coming up on March 29 in Rocky Mount there is a recognition event to honor all Vietnam War Veteran. At noon at the Rocky Mount Veterans Memorial Park there is a special event. Then at 1:15 at American Legion Post 6 at 136 Tanyard Road there is a Recognition Dinner and Awards event.

State and local leaders around the state are honoring Vietnam veterans today and through the weekend. It is a nationwide effort by the Department of Defense to commemorate the end of the war and to thank those who served.
