The Turkish government has denied reports claiming that Turkish Technic carried out maintenance on the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that crashed after take-off from Ahmedabad. The clarification follows online speculation about possible technical lapses.
The crash happened just weeks after the company cut a deal with the U.S. government to avoid taking criminal responsibility for a pair of deadly crashes in 2018 and 2019.
An Air India plane crashed into a medical college in Ahmedabad, killing people on the ground and leaving a sole survivor on the flight. Authorities said 269 died.
While Boeing 787 Dreamliner has experienced minor accidents in past with no fatalities so far, this is the aircraft's first fatal crash.
