BSE Sensex and Nifty50, the Indian equity benchmark indices, surged in trade on Thursday to hit new lifetime highs. While BSE Sensex crossed 85,900, Nifty50 touched 26,250.

The Indian stock market benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty 50, reached new all-time highs, rising nearly one per cent. Key contributors included automakers like Mahindra and Mahindra, Maruti, and Tata Motors.

On the technical front, Hardik Matalia, Derivative Analyst at Choice Broking, said that Nifty 50 is likely to face resistance at 26,050-26,100 levels and find support at 25,900, followed by 25,800.

The trends on Gift Nifty indicate a positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 26,045 level, a premium of nearly 40 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
