The Boston Red Sox recently lost their regular first baseman, Triston Casas, to a torn patellar tendon in his left knee after an awkward play in attempt to beat out an infield single agains the Twins last Friday.

Without the power hitter, the main first base options for the Red Sox are Romy Gonzalez and Triple-A Worcester call-up Abraham Toro. Manager Alex Cora told reporters, including MassLive's Chris Cotillo, that there are no plans to move slugger Rafael Devers to first base.

Casas was removed in the bottom of the second inning after suffering what manager Alex Cora described as a “significant (left) knee injury.”
