Báez scored the Tigers’ final run with a towering solo shot to left field in the eighth inning. It proved to be valuable insurance, as the Jays answered back in the bottom half when Bo Bichette hit a leadoff homer against reliever Tommy Kahnle.

Riley Greene homered and drove in three runs, Javier Báez and Zach McKinstry also connected and the Detroit Tigers became the first team this season to reach 30 wins, beating the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4.
