More than two dozen cities across Florida, including Davie and Key West, have entered into formal agreements with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to interrogate and detain people suspected of being in the U.

The Hialeah Police Department has officially entered into a 287(g) agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), allowing certain local officers to receive training to assist in federal immigration enforcement.

Controversy erupted in Coral Gables Tuesday over the police department's agreement to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The deal would train officers to perform immigration functions in the city.
