The new Zeiss Otus ML lenses, like the DSLR optics, are made for color and sharpness but with new mirrorless mounts

While new cameras always seem to get the most love (and, at times, hate) from the greater filmmaking and video production community, new lenses can often be bigger game-changers for those looking to improve their cinematography and production capabilities.

Zeiss is returning to making lenses for stills cameras, introducing the Otus ML line with new 50mm and 85mm F1.4 lenses for E, RF, and Z mounts. The lenses are manual focus only, but are focused on providing "the highest optical performance and precision mechanics," according to the company.
