Continued rain chances, cooler temperatures, gusty winds, hail and lighting were expected to linger in the Phoenix area through Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

While the Valley picked up some rain last week, the drought status did not change much from last week, according to NOAA records.

Weather in metro Phoenix this week will start off warm, but many on spring break should prepare for possible rain with two separate storm systems expected to move into the Valley.
