Ronnie Adrian 'Jay' Towns admitted to luring Bud and June Runion with a Craigslist ad before fatally shooting them both and leaving their bodies on a road three hours from their home in 2015.

ATLANTA ( WANF /Gray News) - A man will spend the rest of his life in prison after murdering a couple he lured to buy a classic car almost a decade ago. Ronnie Adrian “Jay” Towns pleaded guilty to two counts of malice murder in connection to the deaths of Bud and June Runion. Towns was sentenced to two concurrent life without parole sentences.

A Telfair County man has pleaded guilty to the 2015 murders of a Cobb County couple who were lured to the area through a Craigslist ad.

Bud and June Runion traveled to Telfair County in January 2015 to purchase Bud’s dream car, a 1966 Ford Mustang, that they saw listed on Craigslist. Instead, investigators say the couple were shot to death.

Jay Towns has been in the Telfair County Jail for nearly a decade waiting for a trial. The victims' daughter, Brittany Patterson, told 11Alive Towns pleaded guilty to two counts of malice murder Monday and will spend the rest of his life in jail.
