Ben Stiller brought humor and class to the 2025 Oscars — a bright point in a serious and lengthy Academy Awards ceremony.

The Oscar ceremony had its flaws, as usual, but the humor was surprisingly good thanks largely to host Conan O'Brien.

The host was deft and some of the speeches and production ideas were strong, but there were too many head-scratching choices and tonal inconsistencies to call the night a success.
