After watching Morgan Geekie pull the Bruins into a 3-3 tie early in the third period, the Predators connected twice (Jonathan Marchessault and Ryan O’Reilly) in a span of 63 seconds, pacing Nashville to a 6-3 victory over the slumping Black and Gold.

If the Boston Bruins have any desire to make the playoffs, they didn’t show it on Tuesday night at TD Garden, where they lost 6-3 to the Nashville Predators.

O’Reilly gave the Predators a 2-1 lead at 11:33. Stamkos collected a loose puck just inside the offensive zone and dropped it to Evangelista, who quickly moved it to O’Reilly in the left circle for a shot past the lunging blocker of Swayman.

The Bruins have dropped six of their last seven and now have two points and three teams standing between them and the final playoff spot.

The Predators lost both games in New York over the weekend, a 7-4 loss to the Islanders and a 4-0 loss to the Rangers. Nashville (21-32-7, 49 points) remains in seventh place in the Central Division, four points ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Steven Stamkos had himself a milestone night in Boston.
