EL SEGUNDO, CA -- Several different flavors and sizes of tuna produced by California-based Tri-Union Seafoods have been recalled because of possible clostridium botulinum (botulism) contamination. The recall was announced by the Food and Drug Administration Monday which says no illnesses associated with the recalled products have been reported.
The recalled tuna cans were sold under Genova, Van Camp's, H-E-B, and Trader Joe's brand names. They were distributed to major grocery chains, including Costco, Walmart, Publix, Kroger, Safeway, and Harris Teeter. Additionally, Trader Joe's locations in multiple states, including New York, Florida, and Texas, carried the affected products.
