According to bankruptcy records, companies like Aldi, Burlington, Tractor Supply and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet have recently scooped up dozens of Big Lots storefronts across the country.
In total, Ollie’s acquired 40 former Big Lots locations through auction in the bankruptcy process. So far, 18 of those locations have been reopened as new Ollie’s Bargain Outlet stores.
Earlier this year, Ollie's acquired 40 Big Lots locations through auction, as the latter filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2024. As of May 3, Ollie's operates 584 stores in 32 states.
