Tacoma could once again house low-level criminal defendants downtown in the Pierce County Jail if city and council leaders give the nod later this month.

Police arrested a 34-year-old woman Sunday who they said returned to the scene of an arson in downtown Tacoma. Crews responded to a fire about 6:45 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East 26th Street.

Tacoma police responded to a fatal shooting, later arresting a 38-year-old man charged with first-degree murder.
