A Fayetteville man was fatally shot Wednesday night. At approximately 12:37 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 300 block of Round Tree Drive. Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Emone McGougan suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cumberland County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Emone Anthony Tyrone Mcgougan was wanted in a May 2023 murder investigation.
