President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet nominees for the Department of Justice, State Department and more sat for Senate confirmation hearings throughout the day Wednesday.

Rubio appeared to be on a glide path to winning confirmation as secretary of state while Bondi looks poised to become the nation’s top law enforcement official.

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – It’s the second day of confirmation hearings for President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees on Capitol Hill. Secretary of State nominee Florida Senator Marco Rubio and the nominee for attorney general Pam Bondi are scheduled Wednesday.

Ratcliffe, director of national intelligence for the final months of Trump’s first term, goes before the Senate Intelligence Committee. The former Texas congressman is in line to lead the nation's premier spy agency, responsible for foreign covert operations and collecting data on U.S. adversaries.

Jim DeFede says Marco Rubio is a highly qualified candidate and should face no major issues. He said Pam Bondi has two days of hearings scheduled, and she'll be getting lots of questions concerning the independence of the Justice Department.

Senate hearings are scheduled this week for several of Trump’s picks for the Cabinet. While many are rapidly gaining support for their confirmation, the remaining still have to go before the committees overseeing the agencies Trump wants them to run.
