People were urged to stay off the roads in Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky. A winter storm warning was in place across all these states. A winter weather advisory had much broader impacts, stretching as far north as Michigan and down into central Georgia and South Carolina.
